This programme booklet was given to guests who attended the “Ancient Straits Chinese Wedding Ceremony at Midsummer Ball”. The programme documents one of many fund-raising efforts organised during the 1950s by the Siglap Girls’ Club (presently named the Singapore Women’s Association). The booklet includes a 2-page write-up on a traditional 12-day Peranakan wedding, photographs of the performers as well as interesting graphics and typography characteristic of advertising in the 1950s.
