Collection of
Nonyaware coffee pots were commissioned sometime in the early 20th century by the Peranakan Chinese in Singapore, Malacca and Penang. This was a new form in Nonyaware as previous forms were largely derived from Chinese porcelain forms. The Peranakans were fond of drinking coffee. These pieces were largely commissioned by wealthy families for use during weddings and special occasions.
