'Four Jills in a Jeep’ is a 1944 American film starring Kay Francis, Carole Landis, Martha Raye and Mitzi Mayfair.American films streamed into Singapore and Malaysia in the 1920s and the number grew tremendously over the years. By the late 1930s, Hollywood films constituted 70 percent of the films shown here. The others were Chinese, Indian, Malay, British and European films. During this period, most European and English-language films were screened in more upmarket theatres such as Cathay, Capitol, Alhambra and Rex.
