The Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque (Johor) was constructed between 1892 and 1900. The Tyersall house was built by William Napier (a law agent) as his residence. The road leading to the estate is also named after him. Napier’s residence was later purchased by Sultan Abu Bakar of Johor, who demolished the house and built an Istana on the site.
