This print (chromolithograph) shows a road as observed by naturalist Eugen von Ransonnet, who described it as such: “Selita is most attractive for the road that leads through the most wonderful tropical vegetation on both sides. Sky-high tropical trees are standing alongside … surrounded by walls of green in all the spectrums of colour … ” The print was published in 'Skizzen aus Singapur und Djohor' (Sketches: Singapore and Johore).
