This book contains a short treatise on calligraphy written by Mir 'Imad al-Hasani outlining the principles of calligraphy. Mir 'Imad Hasani was a famous Iranian calligrapher (1024 AH /1615 CE) known for his 'nasta‘liq' script. This treatise includes information on how to prepare a pen and ink. The technique of cutting and trimming the nib of the reed pen and the making of ink were often trade secrets, passed on from master to student.
