This is a photograph of the Singapore Cricket Club and the Supreme Court. The present Singapore Cricket Club was built in 1884 and extensions to the building were added in 1906 and 1922. Club membership was exclusively for British and Europeans residents in Singapore, but it was later opened to Asians after WWII. The Supreme Court was opened on 3 August 1939 by Sir Shenton Thomas, Governor of the Straits Settlements.
