Balenciaga pale blue jacket

This Cristobal Balenciaga (1895-1972) couture pale blue tweed jacket is the top half of a skirt suit. The suit is from his 1961 Spring/Summer collection. The loose silhouette is typical of Balenciaga, who is famous for his abstract-shaped silhouettes. He is also known for his use of stiff fabric to create his works.
