This large baluster vase with lid features unusual decorations that comprise honeycomb-shaped panels. The panels include motifs of grapes, flowers, flowerpots, churches and Chinese-looking pavilions. This was probably combined with gu 觚 shaped beakers to form a garniture – a set of five or seven pieces, which decorated the mantelpieces and walls of rooms (specially lined with shelves).
