This shoulder cloth belongs to the Lio people of Flores. The triangular ornamentation at the fringes, as well as the centrefield motifs, suggests influence from the silk Indian textiles (patola). Indian silk textiles from Gujarat were imported into Southeast Asia, and their designs were either copied or absorbed into existing patterns in Southeast Asia textiles.
