Membership certificate of the Tsung Sin Kongsi

This membership certificate of the Tsung Sin Kongsi, one of Singapore’s secret societies, is part of the William Stirling Collection. William George Stirling was the Assistant Protector of Chinese in Singapore from 1921 to 1931. The certificate bears an image of three peaches, along with the Chinese characters ‘tao’ and ‘yuan’, which mean ‘peach garden’ and depict the qualities of loyalty and faithfulness.
