This image shows an imprint of the Imperial Seal that was presented to the monks of the Shaolin Monastery by the Emperor in the Xi Lu legend, the founding legend of the original Tiandihui (Heaven and Earth Society) in China. The Tiandihui in Singapore was a local version of the original secret society in China which bound its members together in a sworn fraternity with the common cause of overthrowing the Qing dynasty. With increased Chinese migration to Singapore, the society became a form of mutual-aid and support. The Chinese characters "jia hou" refer to the family of the Empress
