This ornament features Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth. Characteristic of Lakshmi are the two lotuses she holds with two of her four arms. She is depicted wearing a sari and raising from the lotus. The lack of sharp details suggests that this ornament is an inferior cast. Java already had contacts in India by the 2nd century, and India-derived symbols were used in Javanese jewellery, although the nature of interaction between indigenous and Indian culture remains a subject of debate.
