V-shaped ear ornament

This is an ornament from the late Classic period (AD1000-AD1400), featuring a V-shaped motif carved with many pointed projections. The skills of the east Javanese artisans had attained a higher level compared to the early Classic period as seen by the intricate designs which made much use of chasing, granulation and filigree. The late Classic period also saw a preference for details and dense ornamentation covering all surfaces of the object.
