Cheng Fong Girls’ School was founded in 1927. It provided education for female students as well as training for local teachers. The school started receiving grants from the government and donations from several members of the Chinese community from 1930. This book was published to appeal for funds to redevelop the school. It urged its readers to remember that the purpose of education was to save the mother country from foreign oppression.
