This industrial high-speed sewing machine belonged to Sylvia Kho, the Singapore wedding gown designer who introduced the wedding package in the late 1950s. Powered by electricity, the machine not only helped to speed up the sewing but also made it more comfortable for the tailor as it removed the need for tiresome foor-treading.
