Weapons like the sword or keris are commonly found in the regalia of Southeast Asian rulers. The most important of these belong to the category of pusaka. At the court level these were sacred heirlooms imbued with magical powers. Court pusaka transmitted legitimacy to the ruler and were jealously guarded.
