The basic form and structure of most ‘kampong’ houses are similar. A distinctive feature of a ‘kampong’ house is the high, sloping roof with gables at both ends. The roof is covered with ‘attap’, which is made from palm fronds. Although most ‘kampong’ houses have raised floors, this particular ‘kampong’ house is built on cement.
