This is a fuchsia, mid-sleeved, knee-length cheongsam. A figure-hugging piece, it was believed to be influenced by the nipped-in waist style of the 1950s introduced by the West. Although the design is simple, the cut-out effect on the sleeves and the lower body of the cheongsam makes it unique. This cheongsam was probably worn for an evening function.
