This dishcover is made of plaited 'mengkuang' leaves and strengthened with strands of split rattan on the inside and ring around the rim. It is painted using brightly coloured enamels featuring six-pointed stars enclosed to form hexagonal blocks.Food covers such as this was used to cover foods that had been prepared for short periods of time.
