This toaster bears the mark ‘Swan Brand, made in England’ and the BEAB (British Electrical Approval Board) stamp. The BEAB was an association formed by regional electricity companies, manufacturers and retailers to promote electrical safety.With increasing affluence, Singaporean households started to consume more imported electrical goods from the United Kingdom and United States. This 'Swan' brand toaster was fairly typical in middle-class households.
