This postcard shows a clear view of Singapore River and Boat Quay, where shophouses, as well as the building of Guthrie & Company, can be seen in the background. Wrapping itself round the shoreline of the northern and southern side of Singapore River, Boat Quay is the site of the original Chinese kampong in the Town Plan that Raffles drew up.
