This sleeveless cheongsam is under the label Tan Tan, founded by former broadcast journalist Tan Sheau Yun. There is no zip at the side, instead it is replaced by a row of big red buttons which is reminiscent of the more traditional cheongsam of the 1920s and early 1930s. In 2008, the store expanded and was renamed Tong Tong The Friendship Store. The shop sells improvised cheongsams, cheongsam inspired tops and accessories made with materials such as denim and cotton. The garments come in modern silhouettes such as the empire waist and A-line skirt.
