Envelope stamped with British Military Administration (BMA) postmark ‘Delay Your Spending’

The local population in Singapore continued to live under austere conditions in the aftermath of the Japanese Occupation. Food rationing continued and many envelopes used during the British Military Administration (BMA) period had the label ‘Delay Your Spending’ stamped on it to encourage people to remain prudent.
