These pair of leggings made of indigo cloths sewn into tubes are worn particularly by Akha women who decorate them in various styles. The Akha women's outfit consists of an elaborate headdress, short skirt, a jacket worn over a garment, an embroidered belt and leggings like this pair.The Akha originated from Yunnan and migrated into Northern Thailand from Burma, Laos and Vietnam during the 18th and 19th centuries.
