A pair of white glazed dishes with warming compartments. These items bear a combination of Chinese characters and a western type heraldic design on the rim. Four Chinese characters read from right to left, Shan Yang Yuan Ji (山仰远记). It is thought the first two characters Sungiang (Shan Yang), refer to the ancestral village in Fujian province. These characters are printed upside down on the dishes.
