Here we see a snake like earring with braided gold thread. This is known as 'thandatti'. It ends with a gold ball on either ends.Both the earrings are worn by village women in rural Tamil Nadu around Tirunelveli amongst Kollar, Maravar, Pallar, Paravar, Pariah, Shanar and Vellala castes .
