This is bridal crown with a central Garuda headdress and is worn with complementary ornaments suspended at the sides and back. This was most likely worn by an aristocratic lady or a woman of high status in Kutai. As Garuda is a mythical bird or bird-like creature featured in Hindu and Buddhist mythology, this headdress reflects the strong influence of Indianised culture in Southeast Asia.
