Turquoise-lined sleeveless cheongsam with floral embroidery (绿色通花旗袍, lü se tong hua qi pao)

This is an ankle-length cheongsam worn on formal occasions. Featuring a turquoise lining and floral embroidery all over, The dress has a nipped-in waist to accentuate the waistline of the wearer. The high collar creates the illusion of a long slender neck, while the ankle length projects elegance. This cheongsam belonged to Wu Si Jing, a female writer born in 1935. Her works include ‘Lotus from the Mud: I was a Majie’s Foster Daughter’ (我是妈姐的养女, wo shi ma jie de yang nü) and ‘Down Memory Lane in Clogs’ (木屐踩过的岁月, mu ji cai guo de sui yue), reflecting the past of Singapore’s Chinatown.
