This Pierre Cardin jewelled evening gown (labelled ‘Pierre Cardin Paris)’ is completely covered in gold and silver sequins and features a repeated houndstooth check pattern. Such geometric designs were extremely popular in the 1960s. This dress is quite a departure for Cardin who until then, used mainly a space-age design which was the dominant theme in most of his creations in the 1960s.
