A Malaya-Singapore train

This is a photograph of a Malaya-Singapore train. The Malayan Railway was established in 1885 and the first railway line through Singapore, the Singapore-Kranji Railway Line, was completed in January 1903. The Woodlands and Pasir Panjang extensions were completed in March 1903 and January 1907 respectively. The Tanjong Pagar Railway Station was completed in 1932. The Tank Road Station (the line was later dismantled in 1938 to 1939) and the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station were the only two terminals for passenger trains.
