A yellow skirt with black and white circle motifs by Benny Ong

This full-length yellow skirt is made from silk georgette. The black and white circle motifs are created by hand-embroidered sequins. The piece exudes a sense of fun and playfulness, which is achieved through the use of bold colours and striking geometric motifs.Benny Ong is an established Singapore-born designer based in London. He graduated from the prestigious St. Martin's School of Art and Design in 1974 and launched his eponymous label in 1976 at the age of 27. Ong’s creations, described as glamourous yet elegant and classy, are sold at various high-end departmental stores in New York, London and the United States. He has dressed various royal personalities, including the late Princess Diana, and was also responsible for updating the staff uniforms for corporate clients such as the British Airports Authority and Singapore’s Raffles Hotel, amongst others. Although now a British citizen, Ong has in recent years set up his base in Singapore as well. Apart from his atelier at Robertson Quay, Ong has now also ventured into designing and producing hand-woven Asian textiles.
