This Southern Chinese-style bow-shaped hairpin with floral motifs, and is part of a set of three comprising of two bow-shaped hairpins, one larger and one smaller, and a third larger decorative hairpin. The larger decorative hairpin features the three auspicious Daoist personages, "Fu, Lu, Shou" (福禄寿) which represent good fortune, prosperity and longevity. The use of this form of hairpins can be found in Ming dynasty paintings, and this set of hairpins was most likely used by the Peranakan women in Indonesia.
