This Southern Chinese-style decorative hairpin features the three auspicious Daoist personages, "Fu, Lu, Shou" (福禄寿) which represent good fortune, prosperity and longevity. It is part of a set of three which comprises of two more bow-shaped hairpins, one larger and one smaller. The use of this form of hairpins can be found in Ming dynasty paintings, and this set of hairpins was most likely used by the Peranakan women in Indonesia.
