The various stations and features of the sacred mosquesa of Meccand Medina are marked on the drawing in nastaliq script. Mecca is one of the most sacred places for Muslims as it is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and it was the place where he received Divine Revelations. Going on the Haj, which is a pilgrimage to Mecca, is one of the pillars of Islam. Every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so should go on a haj at least once in their lifetime. It is a demonstration of their submission to Allah.
