This album belonged to Alan G. Prestidge who recorded his travels to the East as a military personnel. In December 1957, he started on board the S.S Oxfordshire, which transported British troops four times a year to countries in the British Empire. Prestidge travelled through Ceylon (present day Sri Lanka) and India before arriving in Singapore in 1958. Most of his photographs were taken using a Rolleiflex camera and he figures in many of the pictures.
