This brown earthernware sherd has raised applied or moulded decoration. A number of unglazed wares have been uncovered from temple sites at Bagan. Bagan (formerly known as Pagan) is a medieval area in upper Myanmar(formerly Burma). Between the 10th and 13th centuries BCE, during the height of its power, thousands of Buddhist temples, stupas and monasteries were constructed in Bagan. Exacavation sites along the Ayeyarwady River uncovered earthenware potsherds throughout the site.
