This is a string of spherical beads that are intricately embellished with filigree and granulation. These beads reflect a typical classical Malay style of jewellery and metalwork and are worn by Malay ladies of fine birth. The classical Malay style is distinctive in its use of motifs derived from nature and its composition based on simple geometric intersections.
