Syed Thajudeen, a Malaysian artist of Indian descent, had studied at the College of Arts and Crafts in Madras, India from the late 1960s to early 1970s. Having developed a keen interest in mural painting, his works are characterized by stylised figures, colourful and decorative compositions, and often romantic subjects. The latter are mostly drawn from his depictions of epic literature, and explorations of human emotions such as love and sorrow.
