This grey 'jahbla' is decorated with birds, peonies and other fauna motifs. These decorative motifs are termed as 'cheena cheeni' in Parsi Gujarati, in reference to the Chinese figures embroidered on the jahbla.A jahbla is a smock like a blouse worn by Parsi children as part of their traditional costume. Orignal jahblas were embroidered in China and were brought to India by Parsi merchants trading in opium, tea and cotton. The jahbla follow the typical design favoured by the Parsis in which the garment is finished with a band of embroidery and the ground round the neck is richly embroidered.
