This 'topi' (prayer cap) is worn by Parsi children. It is made stiff by use of buckram and or cardboard. Velvet is embroidered largely in 'zari' (silver thread). This type of cap was popular in early 20th century. The black velvet cap in the centre is embellished with flora and birds motifs.
