Easily distinguished by their dark skin colour and distinct facial features, the Negrito form part of the Orang Asli - the Malay word for 'aborigines' - population in Peninsula Malaysia. The Negrito are also the most nomadic tribe among the Orang Asli, and the wooden or bamboo blowpipe, as seen in the photograph, is a constant companion that serves as an essential hunting tool.
