This type of leggings are worn particularly by the Phami-Akha women. It is made of indigo-blue cloth embroidered with patterns. The Akha women's outfit consists of an elaborate headdress, short skirt, a jacket worn over a garment, an embroidered belt and leggings like this pair.The Akha originated from Yunnan and migrated into Northern Thailand from Burma, Laos and Vietnam during the 18th and 19th centuries.
