This multi-coloured embroidered silk tapestry has a body of red damask and an overlapping green silk panel. Both panels are richly embroidered in gold and coloured threads with motifs of phoenixes, butterflies, plants and flowers and decorated with mirror work. Embroidered panels such as this were hung at the door during festive occasions.
