The Chinese Women’s Association originally began as The Chinese Ladies’ Association in 1915 with a group of 23 women under the leadership of founder Mrs. Lee Choon Guan, who also served as its first president. The association changed its name to the Chinese Women’s Association in 1960 to broaden its scope and meet the needs of women in changing times.
