Similar kinds of clothing accessories, and domestic items are used by each of the hilltribes. These longs strands of multi-coloured threads are attached to the headdresses of the Akha and the Lisu people. A young Lisu girl wears a black turban with these streamers on festive occasions while a young Akha man's courting turban also features these tassels.
