This small, concave, silver belt buckle has a wash of gold, and is decorated at the centre with a large flower. The buckles can be oval or slightly concave, and sometimes they have scalloped edges. Their decorations usually consist of a central medallion surrounded by a combination of blooms, wavy lines, twists and a border, which is either decorated or left plain. Those executed in niello (black metalwork) technique, consists of three tiers and usually has a border of 'fish scales'.
