SayurStory is a ground-up initiative that explores community-building with migrant domestic workers in Singapore through food and nature-based connections.

In this session, they invite you to get to know the community and plants in the neighbourhood, and plan a meal together with and for the people who show up. In smaller groups, you will gather ingredients together from Geylang Serai wet market and assemble a potluck of dishes (or tea/fruit party as you like), responding to the weather and what's in season on the day.

There is no fixed menu, only constraints in shared time and space to navigate together.

Rooted in the living heritage of Geylang Serai, this pilot incubator programme at Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery invites Heritage practitioners to deepen their practice and reach new audiences by drawing on the rich stories and communities that have shaped this neighbourhood for generations.

The first edition, led by Sendok Rakyat, brings together practitioners to spark fresh curiosity and connection with Geylang Serai, creating experiences that resonate beyond the gallery . Each programme is supported by Wisma Geylang Serai and contributes to the broader Geylang Serai Cultural Belt rejuvenation efforts.

Please note that this is a paid programme. Before purchasing a ticket, please read the following:

1. Please note that 1 ticket to this programme admits 1 person only. 

2. Please arrive 10 - 15 minutes before the programme for registration. The programme meeting point will be at Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery.

3. Kindly note that there will be food consumption (food included in the ticket price). All food provided are Halal. If you have any other dietary restrictions, please let us know in the registration form.

4. If you need to cancel your ticket, please write to us via Peatix messages or email us at kagsprogrammes@gmail.com, 48 hours before the event start time. Late cancellations and no-shows will be subject to the full ticket fees.

5. To allow more participants to enjoy the programme, each customer is allowed to purchase up to 2 tickets. We reserve the right to cancel additional tickets purchased.
