Step into the past and explore the architectural marvels of Katong–Joo Chiat in a captivating journey through the area's rich history, distinctive culture, and iconic landmarks. Hear from National Heritage Board’s Heritage Action Node (HAN) Champions as they share fascinating stories behind historic architectural gems, including the Peranakan shophouses along Koon Seng Road, the Red House Bakery, and the former Joo Chiat Police Station. 
 
Held in conjunction with the Draft Master Plan 2025 exhibition, this tour will feature select installations by SUTD students, in collaboration with SAA Architects and RSP Architects Planners and Engineers, designed for Singapore Archifest 2025’s SGAF+. The tour will culminate in an exclusive home visit.

The meeting point is at the Koon Seng Road Peranakan Houses (between the houses and Cafe Wabi Sabi).

Important Notes for Participants

Kindly note that no refund or exchange of tickets is allowed under any circumstance except for programme cancellation. Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the programme. The programme will begin on time. The tour will proceed in the event of wet weather, and all participants are advised to bring an umbrella/raincoat. The tour may, however, be cancelled due to inclement weather (e.g. hazardous haze conditions, flooding etc.) or due to other unforeseen circumstances affecting the tour (e.g. road closures etc.), and participants will be informed. 

The duration of the walking tour is about 2 hours. Participants are recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes, light clothes suitable for the weather, as well as to bring along a bottle of water, an umbrella and their smartphone with power bank. Kindly also bring along an earpiece/earphones with a 3.5mm audio jack for use during the tour.

Parents/guardians must accompany any child under the age of 12, and must buy their own ticket if so. To allow more participants to enjoy the programme, each customer is allowed to purchase up to 4 tickets. Any additional tickets purchased may be cancelled.

By registering for this programme, participants agree:
a) that the personal information supplied will be strictly used for the purposes stated above;
b) that the programme organiser(s) may take photographs and/or videos of them (or their child as applicable) and use the images and/or videos including to archive, exhibit and publish them for publicity; and
