The "Rights of Singapore" is a Ministry of Culture poster from the early 1960s designed to educate the public on the terms of the merger with Malaysia. It aimed to galvanise support for the merger by highlighting the benefits for Singaporeans within the new Federation, such as economic and employment opportunties, rights and freedoms, citizeship status. This was part of a wider, intensive campaign from 1961 to 1963, including Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's influential "Battle for Merger" radio broadcasts, aimed at convincing Singaporeans of the necessity of the merger for the nation's future.
